“Ciara works therapeutically and sensitively with her families. She gains a thorough sense of the child's story and where the family are at, and is able to be really attune with the needs. The families I have known her to work with speak highly of her work and how she connects with the child, and creates shift for families.”

“Ciara works closely with our Adoption and SGO Support Team and is commissioned to offer Dramatherapy for our families. I value Ciara’s work because she successfully integrates a trauma informed flexible approach toward healing developmental trauma and attachment difficulties which includes 1:1 with the child, working with the parent/carer, and working dyadically/with the family which requires a breadth of skill. Ciara is vibrant, passionate, and sensitive to the family’s needs meeting them where they’re at using a PACE and somatic approach.”

"The Training has been incredibly thought-provoking about how to embed Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) into our supervision and to think about creative and practical ways to put it into practice. Especially the sand tray as it will mean we can approach reflective discussions in a more fun and engaging way. The training sessions overall, so far have given us the confidence in our culture already having elements of TIP as well as ensuring we take it further."

Noah* really looks forward to the sessions. He really enjoys the games and the time playing with me while we are with Ciara. Ciara makes Noah feel happy and safe to express his feelings. At times, Noah feels he is inadequate and has at times reflected to me that his 'birth parents wouldn't think he is 'good enough' or a 'good person'. The sessions definitely supported a change in his view of himself and has allowed him to articulate his hopes, dreams and feelings.

The 'therapeutic thinking spaces' have been very useful for my mental health. As a result of the sessions, I decided to reduce my working week—this has really supported our family life. I have found some of them challenging, but by exploring my own thoughts and feelings and reflecting on my parenting decisions and style, I feel I have positively benefitted my relationship with myself and my daughter.
